With strengths in diagnosing and fixing broken things, Johnathan Segovia serves as a maintenance mechanic 3 for St. Francis Medical Center’s downtown campus.
“Working in maintenance allows me to use my gifts and talents to keep the hospital running,” he says. “I believe in working for a cause greater than myself.”
A member of our health system ministry for more than three years, Segovia coordinates maintenance for the P&S building.
Honoring His Hispanic Heritage
Segovia and his mother are from the U.S. Originally from El Salvador, Segovia’s father has been in the U.S. for about 40 years.
Segovia celebrates his culture and heritage through music and dancing at family gatherings. Celebrating Christmas at midnight with his entire family is his favorite family tradition.
Keeping Connections Through Food
Food is a way to connect, both to our own culture and to experience others’ cultures. Pupusas and curtido are Segovia’s favorite traditional dishes.
Our DEI Commitment
Our ministry’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion supports culturally competent care education for our team members all year long, including during Hispanic Heritage Month each September 15 to October 15.
