Why did you choose your specialty?
I always enjoyed interacting with young children and especially liked science in school. Pediatrics seemed a good way to combine both of those.
What do you like most about being a doctor?
I love the interactions I have with the families of my patients.
If you weren’t a doctor, what would you do?
I really don’t know what I would do otherwise. I’ve had it in my mind to become a pediatrician from a young age. Perhaps a pediatric therapist of some kind.
How do you ensure your patients feel heard during their visit?
I make a point to make eye contact as I am listening.
What is something that people may be surprised to know about you?
People are usually surprised to find out that I don’t have children (and am single). It’s a rare finding for a pediatrician.
Why did you choose Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group?
When I was finishing residency in New Orleans, I wanted to work in Baton Rouge. Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group has a great reputation and there was an opportunity for me to join a great practice. I continue to feel that our group aims to give its doctors the support they need to provide great care to patients.
