What is your specialty?
Dermatology
Why did you choose your specialty?
I enjoy being able to see patients of all ages – from babies to great-grandparents. I also enjoy visualizing the conditions I am treating – seeing rashes clear, removing skin cancers and treating acne are all very satisfying.
What do you like most about being a doctor?
I love the relationships I make with my patients and my team members in my clinic.
If you weren’t a doctor, what would you do?
I am a huge nerd and love chemistry! I majored in chemistry in college, and if I had not gone to medical school, I think I would have pursued a career in teaching.
How do you ensure your patients feel heard during their visit?
I always want to hear you describe your condition in your own words. I make a point to listen to your story before asking any follow up questions – often you may answer my questions before I ask!
What is something that people may be surprised to know about you?
I am currently training for my first half-marathon.
Why did you choose St. Dominic’s?
I felt there was a need for accessible dermatology care in the community. Before starting, I spoke with other physicians employed at St. Dominic’s who have enjoyed their careers here. I hope to continue my time at St. Dominic’s for many years.
