What is your specialty?
Family Medicine
Why did you choose your specialty?
During my training, I enjoyed treating people of all ages. This made choosing to practice family medicine an easy decision.
What do you like most about being a doctor?
I enjoy building patient-physician relationships with my patients and hearing about both their success stories and trials. Medicine is all about teamwork, and the patient is the most important member of their healthcare team.
If you weren’t a doctor, what would you do?
If I were not a doctor, I would have become a physical therapist. However, in more recent years, I believe I would have also loved being a hospice nurse.
How do you ensure your patients feel heard during their visit?
Taking the time to LISTEN to my patients and assuring my patients know they can come to me for all their acute and/or chronic conditions. A few moments of listening and being silent can be powerful.
What is something that people may be surprised to know about you?
I lived in Africa for a month during a mission trip and have also visited Honduras twice on mission trips.
Why did you choose the Medical Group?
I chose to work with the St. Francis Medical Group because of the sense of community and belonging I felt when interviewing. I have not been disappointed since I have started practicing here. We are a great team!
