When it comes to your child’s health, you want nothing but the best. At Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health’s Pediatric Academic Clinic (PAC), that’s exactly what you get.
This unique clinic stands out in our children’s health network, offering not just top-notch medical care but also a nurturing learning environment for the next generation of pediatricians.
Expert Care in a Learning Environment
Here, your children are seen by physicians in training, known as residents. Our residents are supervised by some of the brightest and most passionate attending physicians.
The attending physicians are experts in various fields, including obesity medicine and palliative care. They are highly skilled in managing complex health needs and committed to special projects that benefit our most vulnerable patients.
From running a diaper bank to providing fluoride varnish applications and postpartum depression screenings, the PAC team goes above and beyond in their care for their patients.
Compassionate and Comprehensive Care
The academic clinic offers longer visits, which benefits the residents as they learn as well as the families they serve.
Courtney Campbell, MD, an attending physician at the PAC and associate director of our residency program, highlights the importance of those longer appointments.
“We love having the extra time to fully listen to our patients,” she says. “This lets us hopefully meet their medical and social needs at all times.”
The residents, with their up-to-date education and enthusiasm, bring a fresh perspective and a wealth of knowledge to the clinic.
“They teach me every day!” Dr. Campbell adds.
These residents also have the unique ability to work in multiple areas across Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital. So, if your child needs inpatient care or a visit to the ER, there’s a good chance you’ll see a familiar face. If not, the residents have great access to those teams to ensure a seamless transition of care.
Innovative Programs and Growing Expertise
The PAC is continually evolving to meet the needs of the community. This year, the clinic is expanding its team and its ability to care for children with mental health needs. The nurses, medical assistants and social workers at the PAC demonstrate recognized competence and compassion. They make sure every child receives comprehensive and compassionate care.
A Commitment to Excellence
At the Pediatric Academic Clinic, your child receives longer visits and an exceptional quality of care that not only benefits your family but also inspires future physicians. The dedication and expertise of the PAC team ensure that your child’s health is in the best possible hands.
Choosing the PAC means choosing exceptional care where the future of pediatric medicine is being shaped. It’s a place where your child’s health and well-being are the top priority, supported by a team of passionate and knowledgeable professionals committed to making a difference.
