Melissa Wise, Nursing Director of the Intensive Care and Medicine Units at Our Lady of the Angels, is celebrating a decade of dedicated service.
Guided by Mission and Family
Melissa chose to join Our Lady of the Angels because of the Mission.
“It feels like family,” she says, a sentiment that has kept her committed for 10 years.
From ICU Bedside to Leadership
Melissa began her journey as an ICU bedside RN, gaining firsthand experience in critical care. After about a year, she moved into her current leadership role, where she guides teams dedicated to safe, quality and compassionate care.
For Melissa, what makes her hospital special is the people she works with every day.
“Working with a team that is dedicated to quality, safe and compassionate care is the best part of my job,” she explains.
Mentored by the Ultimate Example
Melissa draws inspiration from her ultimate mentor: Jesus.
“To be the hands and feet of Jesus, He is the ultimate and perfect mentor,” she says, reflecting the faith-driven mission that shapes her work.
Melissa’s commitment over the past 10 years has left a lasting impact on her team and the patients she serves, embodying the mission of our health system.
