Most people know the dangers of smoking, but many smokers were unaware of the risks when their addiction began. We now know it causes serious damage to your body, including increasing your risk of lung cancer.

However, just because someone has smoked for a large part of their life does not mean there’s no point in quitting. Smokers can reverse some of the side effects of smoking and experience health benefits as soon as a few hours after their last puff.

When Saying No Isn’t Enough – Programs to Support Quitting Smoking

Across our health system we offer ways to help smokers become former smokers, improving their health and lowering their risk of lung cancer. Smokers and former smokers are encouraged to check if they’re eligible to receive annual lung cancer screening

We know quitting smoking is no easy task, and support is available to smokers ready to make this healthy life choice. That support can include medications, group and one-on-one counseling, and quit-line coaching. Using proven tools, experts who know firsthand how hard quitting can be will work with you to create a personal plan to conquer your cravings once and for all.
