Never burn bridges and treat people the way you want to be treated.
That advice has served Kimaka Jones, RN, well throughout her 19-year nursing career with our St. Francis ministry. A registered nurse, Kimaka is the nursing supervisor for the 3rd Medical Surgical unit.
“I became a nurse because I have always wanted to help and take care of people,” she says.
Black History Month is important to Kimaka.
“To me it’s an acknowledgement, recognition, and celebration of the rich history of African-American culture,” she says. “Black history is celebrated daily in my household, 365 days a year. The recognition, achievements and central roles played in the past and present reminds us of hope and opportunity for the future.”
