Courtney, LPN, knows firsthand how a supportive environment can transform patient care.
From day one at Our Lady of Lourdes Health, Courtney has felt like a valued member of a team that prioritizes not only the well-being of patients but also the nurses who care for them. Her experience has been one of inspiration and growth, both professionally and personally.
putting patients first every day
“I’ve always wanted to be a nurse,” Courtney says. “I went through many trials and tribulations to get my nursing degree, but I never gave up. I knew that I wanted to care for people, that was the most important thing overall.”
Courtney prioritizes patient care in everything she does as a licensed practical nurse. She started at Our Lady of Lourdes Physician Group five years ago after six years of working at Lourdes Urgent Care.
“It’s all about the patient experience here,” she says. “We make sure they feel safe, cared for and heard.”
Courtney’s commitment to her patients aligns with our health system’s mission to deliver compassionate, high-quality care. She takes pride in her ability to connect with each individual, making sure they feel respected and understood.
“It’s not just about treating symptoms — it’s about treating the whole person,” she says.
feeling supported by a strong team
One of the most significant differences for Courtney has been the level of support she receives from her team and leadership.
“They don’t just treat you like an employee, and I feel like I’m part of something bigger,” she says. “I know I’m heard, and if I bring something to the table, it’s taken seriously.”
This support has had a huge impact on her job satisfaction and performance. With a culture that encourages collaboration and open communication, Courtney feels empowered to bring her best self to work every day.
a culture of inspiration
The teamwork and compassion Courtney experiences at Our Lady of Lourdes Health inspire her to grow in her role.
“We’re all here for the same reason — to make a difference,” she says. “That’s what drives me to keep learning and improving.”
Working with such a dedicated and passionate team has fueled Courtney’s commitment to nursing.
looking ahead with confidence
As Courtney continues her nursing career, she feels confident in the opportunities ahead.
“I’m inspired to keep growing,” she says. “I know I’m in a place where I can expand my skills and make an even bigger impact.”
Courtney’s dedication stems from a simple yet profound desire: to be there for her patients. “The smallest things can make the biggest impact on someone’s day, whether it’s a smile or just taking a moment to listen,” she says. For Courtney, these moments make every shift worth it.
Courtney’s journey speaks to the power of a supportive work environment, where both patients and nurses are prioritized. Across our health system that support leads to better care for everyone — and more fulfilling careers for those who provide it.
