For decades, St. Dominic’s has been a pioneer in healthcare for Mississippi and beyond — a legacy that Jeremy Tinnerello, RN, MSN, MHA, CEN, market president for St. Dominic Health, is honored to carry forward.
“When I think back to when the Dominican Sisters came from Springfield and brought their mission to Jackson in the 1940s, their impact wasn’t just on this city — it shaped our entire region and the state,” Jeremy says.
Under the Sisters’ leadership, St. Dominic’s introduced many healthcare firsts to the area: the first intensive care unit in the southern U.S., the first in Mississippi to offer full-body CT scanning, and later, community health clinics like the Sister Trinita Community Clinic.
That legacy continues to grow.
“Today, we’re recognized as the No. 1 hospital in Mississippi and are well positioned to take this mission to places beyond our imagination,” Jeremy says.
A Personal Connection
Jeremy officially joined St. Dominic Health in November 2023, but his ties to St. Dominic’s run deep.
“My parents lived in Jackson for about 30 years, and my late father received all of his treatment at St. Dominic’s,” he shares. “So, I was very familiar with not just the hospital, but its mission and the impact it’s had in this community.”
When leaders within FMOLHS reached out about the opportunity to lead St. Dominic Health, the decision was clear.
“It didn’t take much time to consider,” Jeremy says. “Once I met the team and the people in this community, I knew this was the right place for me.”
A Future Built on Faith
From the Dominican Sisters’ early days in Jackson to joining the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System in 2019, St. Dominic Health’s commitment to faith-driven healing remains strong.
For Jeremy, it’s not just about honoring the past — it’s also about shaping the future.
“We have an incredible foundation,” he says. “And now, we have the opportunity to build on it in ways that will continue to serve Mississippi for generations to come.”
