Physician office supervisor April Worley believes that the St. Francis Medical Group is a special place to work because everyone functions like family.
“We all want the hospital to prosper and grow,” says Worley. “When patients come in at their weakest, they can count on us to actually care and help.”
Helping Others by Listening
“From greeting the patient and checking them in, to figuring out insurance and copays, my favorite part is helping people,” she says.
One way she helps her patients is by active listening. “When patients come in scared due to their diagnosis, they want to be comforted. Listening is the first step,” she explains.
Franciscan Service Award Winner
Worley’s most memorable moment in her 15-year career with the health system is receiving the Franciscan Service Award, which is the highest honor a team member can receive within the organization.
“Being an FSA recipient is an incredible honor. I am very proud to have been nominated by my peers for this award,” says Worley, “I hope to be able to continue my service for many years to come.”
Worley has been happily married for 22 years and has a daughter studying biology at LA Tech and a son in high school.
During October, our health system celebrates team member anniversaries, recognizing those who have achieved milestone years of service within our organization. We will be featuring team members across our ministry all month long!
