When Connie Angelle first came to Our Lady of Lourdes, she wasn’t sure what her path would be.

A friend had recruited her to take a nursing aide class, and she decided to give it a try. Forty-five years later, she’s still here, having found her place in the ministry of healing.

“I was just trying to find my place,” Connie remembers. “But I stayed because Lourdes gave me that opportunity.”

Growing Into Her Role

Over the years, Connie has served in several positions, beginning as a nurse aide, then working as a transporter, and now as a rehab tech.

In each role, she has brought the same steady commitment: to reassure patients during their recovery and encourage them along the way.

For Connie, what makes Our Lady of Lourdes special is its heart.

“It’s the dedication to spiritual support and compassionate care for all employees and the community,” she says.

That spirit is what has made her work so rewarding.

“My favorite part of the job is working with patients and motivating them. I wish more people knew how fulfilling it is to serve them and be a part of their healing process.”

Mentors Who Made a Difference

Connie is quick to point to others who helped shape her career.

“Becky Lege, along with so many others, gave me the chance to be part of the therapy department. They encouraged me, supported me and helped build my abilities.”

Looking back, Connie is deeply thankful for the people who have walked alongside her.

“I’ve been extremely fortunate to grow with so many people in this walk of my life,” she says. “The hardest thing for me to do is talk about myself, but I am so grateful to be part of this ministry.”
