Gail Talton is celebrating an incredible 45 years with our health system. Starting as a mail clerk, her journey has evolved over the years. Now a supply coordinator 2, Gail’s commitment to serving our mission shines through every step of the way.
Finding Her Path
Gail joined our ministry after two years of college with the help of a friend who connected her to an interview opportunity. As she started her family, Gail found stability and fulfillment in her work, which kept her here for over four decades.
“By then I enjoyed the work I was doing and the people I worked with,” Gail reflects.
A Journey Through Many Roles
Over the years, Gail transitioned from a mail clerk to the supervisor of the warehouse in the purchasing department and now serves as the inventory coordinator.
One of her fondest memories is working under Sr. Anne Marie during the Christmas season, when the department would gather for festive activities, sing carols, play games and enjoy snacks.
Supporting Patient Care Behind the Scenes
Gail takes pride in her current role, ensuring the hospital has the necessary supplies to treat patients.
“I don’t work directly with the patient, but I feel I still play a very good part in taking care of the patient,” she explains. Her efforts ensure that every team member has what they need to provide top-quality care.
Mentors Along the Way
Gail has worked with several supervisors throughout her 45 years. “I learned a lot from all of them,” she says, expressing gratitude for the guidance she’s received.
A Legacy of Dedication
When asked what makes her journey special, Gail shares, “This is the first job I had, and I’m still here after 45 years.”
Her commitment and dedication serve as an inspiration to everyone at FMOLHS.
