Kathy Belt started her career at St. Francis Medical Center 45 years ago because she enjoyed helping people. Today, her passion for others remains constant as she plans to continue in her role as long as she is physically and spiritually able.
Career Growth
Kathy Belt works as a supply coordinator for the LogisticsONE team at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. Belt started her career at St. Francis in the cafeteria.
“At the time, I thought St. Francis would be a great place to work,” she says. “I liked my job and have stayed because I enjoy helping people.”
It was only after meeting Twohig that Belt transferred to the mail room. She was happy to serve where the Sisters and the ministry needed support. Ultimately, this led to her current position within the purchasing department where she remains today.
Inspired Work
In recounting her years with the health system, she believes the organization is a place of healing and inspiration for those who work there and for the community. While Belt does not directly serve in patient care, she believes that the work she does “serves the people” and plays a part in making a difference for those entrusted to our care.
“I know the importance of communication and attention to details,” Belt says. “I respond to issues that come up and know that this practice assures patients, visitors and team members have a quality experience in our facilities.”
She believes she is able to communicate effectively by actively listening to those she encounters and being open minded to the viewpoint of others.
Committed for Years to Come
Belt enjoys her career with FMOLHS and is planning to stay in her role for as long as she is able. She credits the culture and values of the health system as to why it is such a special place to work.
During October, our health system celebrates team member anniversaries, recognizing those who have achieved milestone years of service within our organization. We will be featuring team members across our ministry all month long!
