When Kimberlee Corley, Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Prairieville clinic manager, and her husband moved from Bossier City to south Louisiana, her plan was to stay for two years. That was 40 years ago, and she wouldn’t change a thing.
Career Growth
Corley started her career answering telephone calls and making patient appointments for three doctors in Ascension Parish. She loves talking to people and excelled in her job; she quickly worked her way up to work at the front desk.
Her career steadily grew over the years, she worked in information services, served in administration, was manager over the main office in Gonzales, and is currently serving as manager of the Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group Prairieville Clinic.
“I believe you get out of something what you put into it, and 35 consistent years of service with this organization is a blessing,” Corley says.
Thriving on Consistency
When Corley began her career, Ascension Parish was a much smaller community, and so was her clinic.
“When I started there were only three providers and 10 employees. Boy, have we grown since then,” she says. “Everyone was so kind and down to earth. It felt like I joined a close-knit family.”
While there have been many changes throughout the years, from electronic medical records to the names of the organization, Corley chooses to roll with the punches and always try her best.
“I thrive on consistency in my life, so I look at things as growing and not so much as changing,” she says.
Future Plans
Corley feels honored to be affiliated with such a spiritual organization, “My faith gets me through every day, and I am thankful for that. I don’t take things or people for granted, which is my biggest strength,” she says.
When asked about her plans for the future Corley says, “My husband just retired, and to say it is hard to come to work every day while he is at home is an understatement, but I love to work. I will continue to work for the next few years. I would love to work from home for the health system and travel more!”
During October, our health system celebrates team member anniversaries, recognizing those who have achieved milestone years of service within our organization. We will be featuring team members across our ministry all month long!
