Serving a Close-knit Community
Ralph Serpas began his journey with our ministry serving as the director of the pediatric intensive care unit at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center before transitioning to nurse director of Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital.
When Our Lady of the Angels opened in 2014, Serpas moved to the Northshore and currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer. “There is just something very special about serving a small, close-knit community,” says Serpas, “The people we care for are our family, friends and neighbors.”
An Incredible Team
Serpas’ favorite part of his job is the people he works with.
“I am blessed to be surrounded by an incredible team of people,” he says. “One of my favorite memories with this team is the construction and opening of our inpatient Behavioral Health Unit at Angels and our Leapfrog Top Rural Hospital designation in 2020.”
Listening as a Leader
Serpas believes that listening is powerful. “Listening is a vital part of building and maintaining effective relationships,” he says. As a leader, he reminds team members that his door is always open and to remember that listening heals.
During October, our health system celebrates team member anniversaries, recognizing those who have achieved milestone years of service within our organization. We will be featuring team members across our ministry all month long!
