The 1,500-square-foot Ronald McDonald Family Room features:
- A children’s play area
- Private bathrooms with shower facilities
- Dining area
- Internet access
- Three sleeping rooms
- Kitchen
- Common area
- Laundry facilities
The Ronald McDonald Family Room is made possible through support of the Our Lady of Lourdes Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana.
“We are incredibly proud to be able to provide this Ronald McDonald Family Room for families with patients in our care,” says Jeigh Stipe, Our Lady of Lourdes Foundation senior director. “It will be invaluable for parents to have a home-like retreat just steps away from their child’s bedside. This space will provide families and other caregivers a place to rest and recharge amidst the emotional and mental tolls that a hospital stay can take on them.”
The Family Room will be staffed with volunteers, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, with services provided at no cost to families approved to use the space.
